Due to a land acquisition difficulty, the extension of the Barapullah elevated corridor in Delhi had been put on hold for a long time. However, now that the Public Works Department (PWD) has acquired the required property, the project is finally complete. Construction on the 3.5 kilometre, 1,068 crore stretch that connects Mayur Phase I to Sarai Kale Khan is anticipated to start soon.
When finished, the extension would offer commuters heading between East and South Delhi, as well as Noida and Ghaziabad, a signal-free route. Four lanes, dual carriageways, footpaths, cycle tracks, street lighting, and room for kiosks will all be present along the section. Half of the viaduct has already been built as part of the flyover construction being done by the PWD. Since five years ago, the remaining sum has been waiting.
Once completed, the Barapullah elevated route is anticipated to significantly enhance local commuter and transportation options.
