Land Acquisition Delays Kochi Metro Phase II Construction Progress
Revenue authorities have postponed the 19(1) notice for several station locations by granting a six-month delay for the 11(1) notification.

The lengthy land acquisition processes are causing delays in Kochi Metro Rail Limited’s (KMRL) Phase II project, which runs from JLN Stadium to Kakkanad. Revenue authorities have postponed the 19(1) notice for several station locations by granting a six-month delay for the 11(1) notification.

Notwithstanding this setback, first construction on the 11.2 km piling and corridor for the viaduct and CEZ Metro station started in September. KMRL is still dedicated to finishing the project in 20 months, and preliminary preparations are being made from JLN Stadium to InfoPark to enable full-scale development.
