In an effort to promote industrial and economic growth in the Malabar area, the Kerala government has accelerated the building of the Kannur Azhikkal International Greenfield Port. Malabar International Port and SEZ Limited (MIPSL), the organization established for the port’s development.

submitted a draft project report for approval to the state cabinet, which was chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The Center for Management Development’s (CMD) financial structure study has also been approved, opening the door for more action.
