Kerala cracks ₹250 cr highway widening project

The 250 crore state highway between Karur and Coimbatore will be widened, the Kerala government has determined. The project in Coimbatore entails making the current road from Palladam to Chinthamanipudur four lanes wide. It will take 18 months to complete, and it will probably be put into service in the middle of 2019.

A request to widen the route from Karur to Vellakoil has also been made to the Central government by the roads department’s Dindigul division as part of the annual plan. The Karur-Coimbatore bypass project is also being planned by the National Highways Authority of India, and it is anticipated to meet the immediate need for a bigger route.
