India’s trade deficit in February 2025 narrowed to $14 billion, driven by a decline in imports. The reduction in the trade gap was primarily due to lower crude oil imports and a dip in non-essential goods purchases. Meanwhile, exports remained stable, supported by strong demand for engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.

The government’s push for self-reliance and localized production has contributed to the reduced dependency on imports. Analysts suggest that if this trend continues, India’s current account balance could improve, enhancing economic stability. The moderation in the trade deficit signals a positive shift for India’s external sector and economic resilience.

During the inauguration, company officials highlighted Kerakoll’s commitment to supporting India’s fast-growing construction sector by offering innovative and sustainable solutions. The plant is expected to not only bolster local manufacturing capabilities but also generate employment opportunities in Rajasthan.

Kerakoll has been steadily expanding its presence in India, recognizing the country as a key market for its green building solutions. The new facility will enable the company to meet rising domestic demand while strengthening its position as a pioneer in sustainable construction materials.
