JSW Cement to invest ₹3,200 crore in MP and UP

JSW Cement would spend more than 3,200 crore to build a split grinding mill in Uttar Pradesh and an integrated greenfield cement production facility in Madhya Pradesh. These two units’ combined annual cement production capacity will be 5 million tonnes (MTPA).

A modern residential colony in Madhya Pradesh, a 2.5 MTPA grinding unit in Uttar Pradesh, an integrated cement plant with a 2.5 MTPA clinker capacity, 2.5 MTPA grinding capacity, and a 15 MW waste heat recovery system are all included in the proposed investment.

JSW Cement recently paid India Cements Ltd. $476.87 crore to acquire Springway Mining Private Ltd. (SMPL), which owned limestone land. Through the acquisition, JSW will have access to 106 million tonnes of limestone reserves as well as a mining lease that is good through 2065. In Madhya Pradesh’s Panna District, the limestone mine has an area of around 500 hectares.

The majority of regulatory licences required for mining activities have been obtained by the company, which is now pursuing approvals needed for the construction of integrated cement production facilities. The integrated manufacturing facility for JSW Cement would be situated next to this mining deposit.
