JMRC unveils ₹1,270cr metro extension

The Jaipur Metro Corporation (JMRC) plans to extend Mansarova to the metro rail network after starting construction of a 4.85km corridor to connect two important highways – Ajmer and Agra Highways – with the metro rail network. Buddy-Chopal corridor at both ends. 1,270 crore. The corridor expansion will not only ease congestion in the Walled City, but also improve connectivity for the thousands of travelers and residents commuting between Ajmer and Agra. JMRC intends to extend the (east-west) corridor from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar.

CMD, JMRC, Ajitabh Sharma informed that Ajmer Road will be extended from Mansarovar Station with a 2km elevated line to connect the MRT lines until the 200ft detour. The agency has reviewed the technical and economic feasibility of the project. The project will ease congestion in inner city areas and connect two major roads. The existing 12km east-west corridor (Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar) will be extended to about 17km when completed.
