Indore to get road projects worth ₹1,599cr

The board of the Indore Development Authority (IDA) has approved a financial proposal for the construction of three flyovers at Bhawarkuan, Khajrana, and Luvkush. The board has approved amounts totaling 47.27 crore, 41.18 crore, and 56.67 crore for the construction of a flyover at each of these congested locations, according to Jaypal Singh Chawda, chairman of the IDA.

In addition, the authority has accelerated the process of requesting bids for a flyover at Futi Kothi Square that will cost 55 crore, and work on conducting soil tests for a flyover proposed for Mhownaka Square is already underway. As both of the state government’s agencies will need to make land available to NHAI, IDA, and MPIDC, the western ring road would be 55 km long and 100 metres wide.

Along with giving preliminary approval for the purchase of roughly 5,000 acres of land for the construction of approximately 42 out of a total 55-km western ring road and developing new schemes on either side, IDA has also decided to proceed with the construction of about half a dozen major roads. For its startup projects put forth on the Super Corridor.

the authority has issued a request for proposals to hire a consultant. In order to acquire the 100 metres of land needed for the proposed road and the 200 feet of land needed on either side to create a “Super Smart Indore” by implementing new programmes, IDA has approached NHAI for assistance. The board has given preliminary approval for land purchase and new project planning along a 42 km section of the proposed western ring road.
