IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is accelerating its expansion into long-haul international markets through a strategic partnership with Norse Atlantic Airways. The airline has entered into a damp lease agreement to induct four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft into its fleet, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory.

Initial Agreement and Expansion

In early February 2025, IndiGo announced its plan to lease one Boeing 787-9 from Norse Atlantic Airways, with operations slated to commence in March 2025. This initial aircraft is scheduled to serve the Delhi-Bangkok route starting March 1, 2025.

Building upon this foundation, IndiGo has now signed a firm agreement to lease an additional three Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Norse Atlantic. These aircraft are expected to be delivered in the second half of 2025 and will facilitate the launch of new long-haul routes from India to Europe by mid-summer 2025.

The damp lease arrangement entails Norse Atlantic providing the aircraft along with pilots and maintenance services, while IndiGo will supply the cabin crew.
