Monitor Renewal Activities:

1. New rails have been installed on 6200 track kilometers.
2. All 6450 track kilometers have had their tracks fully renewed.

Sectional speed increase:

1). Over 2000 track kilometers, including portions of the Golden Quadrilateral, Diagonal, and other B routes, the sectional speed was raised to 130 kmph.
2). Sectional speed has been increased to 110 kmph over 7200 track kilometers.

Engineering and Management of Projects:

The Indian Railways has implemented several changes to streamline the procurement process. The Engineering Department of various Zonal Railways has been disposed of all pending cases under a one-time settlement scheme called “Vivad Se Vishwas II (Contractual Disputes). A new Schedule G-1 has been added for a separate Bill of Quantities for itemized works. A Master Policy for Dispute Redressal Mechanism has been issued for appointing ciliators, DAB members, SAT members, and arbitrators. Powers of Acceptance for Works Tenders have been enhanced, and the Electronic Reverse Auction (e-RA) has been made optional.

Gati Shakti Projects

Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal: 91 GCTs have been commissioned as of 31.10.2024, aiming to boost industry investment in cargo terminals across India.

The Sanction of Three Economic Corridors in 2024 includes: The Energy, Mineral, and Cement Corridors, High Traffic Density Routes, and Rail Sagar corridors have 434 planned projects. In 2024, 58 projects were sanctioned, with a combined completion cost of Rs.88,875 crore and a track length of 4,107 kilometers. The High Traffic Density Routes included 5 projects.

The commissioning of projects has been ongoing since 2024.

Indian Railways has completed 3433 km of railway projects since April 2024, including 1158 new lines, 259 gauge conversion projects, and 2016 doubling projects, demonstrating their commitment to improving connectivity and operational efficiency.

Redevelopment of the Station:

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has identified 1337 stations for redevelopment, with 1198 undergoing work. The redevelopment will boost job creation and economic growth. Six stations have been developed and commissioned, including Rani Kamlapati, Gandhinagar Capital, Sir M. Visveswaraya Terminal, Gomti Nagar, Ayodhya, and Cuttack.

Important Achievements in Renewable Energy:

1. By 2030, Indian Railways wants to achieve net zero carbon emissions.
2. As of November 2024, roughly 103 MW of wind power plants and 487 MW of rooftop and ground-mounted solar plants had been put into service.
3. In addition, the Renewable Energy – Round the Clock (RE-RTC) has begun to flow 100 MW.
4. There are about 2014 MW of renewable capacity committed.

Bullet Train Project:

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project has completed over 243 km of viaduct construction, 352 km of pier work, and 362 km of pier foundation work. Bridges have been built across 13 rivers, and multiple railway lines and highways have been crossed. Gujarat is constructing 71 track km of RC track bed, and work on the 21 km tunnel between Bandra-Kurla Complex and Shilphata is underway. The 12 energy-efficient stations along the corridor are being built for a world-class passenger experience.

Capital Outlays:

The budget’s highest sum to date, ₹2,65,200 cr, is the total capital expenditure for 2024–2025.
