Project Overview
In March 2021, the Indian Navy entered into a contract with M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) shipyard, for the construction of 11 ACTCM Barges. These vessels are designed to transport ammunition, torpedoes, and missiles, thereby enhancing the Navy’s logistical capabilities.
The design and construction were carried out in collaboration with an Indian ship design firm and the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS). To ensure seaworthiness, extensive model testing was conducted at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam.
