The Indian government has approved a budget of ₹4,000 crore for infrastructure projects under the Prime Minister Gati Shakti Abhiyan. The scheme is aimed at providing last-mile connectivity to villages and towns across the country. The scheme will be implemented by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Under the PM Gati Shakti Scheme, the Indian government has authorised the payout of 4,000 crore for infrastructure projects. The “Scheme for Special Assistance to the States for Capital Investment for 2022-2023,” which seeks to allocate 1 lakh crore in the form of a 50-year, interest-free loan for capital investments, will include this financing as part of its provisions. With a combined worth of more over 5,000 crore, 190 projects from 28 states have been taken into consideration under this programme. The majority of these projects have already received the Department of Expenditure’s approval for payment, according to Dr. Surendra Ahirwar, Joint Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
