Deepak Shetty, CEO and Managing Director of JCB India, said at Excon 2021, “Innovation and Sustainability have always been critical to our operations, and we continue to introduce products that significantly reduce their environmental impact.” The JCB 19C-1E is India’s first fully electric excavator and is a key component of JCB’s ‘Road to Zero’ initiative, which we’ve been working on for several years. The machine has undergone extensive testing and is equipped with a number of safety and performance-enhancing features. This new machine is ideal for infrastructure development in urban areas and indoor working due to its zero emissions and low noise.”
The JCB 19C-1E is a zero-emission machine with four lithium-ion batteries that can run for an entire day on a single charge. JCB’s 2GO system safely isolates all controls as a secondary safety system, with a strong focus on safety and productivity. It has auto-idle and auto-kick-up features that redistribute power to save battery life. The machine was released after extensive testing and validation.
JCB also released two more Mini Excavators, the 35Z HD and the 37C HD, in addition to the 19C-1E Electric Mini Excavator. Due to their small size, both machines have heavy-duty structures and are easy to manoeuvre. The 5 Ton Mini Excavator range, which included the 50Z and 55Z, was also on display. With high-strength heavy-duty booms and excellent operator comfort features like full suspension seats, smooth joystick operations, and electronic engine speed control with mode selection, these machines are designed for greater adaptability to work in confined areas.
JCB launched its first Natural Gas Genset, the G125 NG – 125KVA Genset powered by Natural Gas, as part of its commitment to sustainability. The Genset is designed to work in extreme environments as well as having best-in-class aesthetics. This Natural Gas Genset is small and efficient, lowering CO2 emissions significantly. The annual carbon footprint is reduced by up to 6 tonnes.
“Infrastructure development and commercial activities today operate around the clock,” he continued, “so the demand for generators is expected to remain high.” We’ve taken the risky step of launching a Natural Gas-powered generator that reduces emissions significantly. This range will be manufactured in India and will be exported worldwide in addition to catering to the domestic market.”
The company also displayed the G100QI and G200QI Gensets alongside the G125 NG Natural Gas Genset. Both of these generator sets have single-window product support, a proven engine, and are in the 100kVA and 200kVA categories, respectively.
The 540-70 4 Ton Telescopic Handler was also introduced by JCB India. The machine has a Q-fit mechanism for quick attachment changes, and it has a maximum lift height of 7m and a maximum lift capacity of up to 4 Tons. This new machine is well suited for all Material Handling requirements of customers, with an airconditioned, 360° high-visibility global design cabin and ROPS & FOPS.
JCB India also introduced the AJ48D, the first product in its Boom range with a diesel-powered Articulative Boom Lift. The machine is used to work safely and efficiently at heights. It has a working height of 16.7 metres and an outreach of 8.3 metres. The machine has four-wheel drive, oscillating axles, and is controlled by a fully integrated electronic load management system and is powered by a 36kW turbo-charged diesel engine. With features like an anti-crush protection system, an auxiliary handrail, and user-friendly controls with a colour LCD display, it meets the industry’s highest safety standards.
The CEO of JCB India, Deepak Shetty has said that the company’s products are at par with the rest of the world and are used in over 110 countries. These machines are used to build roads in urban and rural India, Schools, Hospitals and Airports among many other applications. With operating costs becoming more critical than ever, our products are designed to consume lesser fuel and have lower maintenance costs, thereby improving the profitability for our customers.
JCB India has the industry’s largest range of backhoe loaders, which were on display at Excon. The JCB 2DX is a machine designed for working in tight spaces and utility applications, while the 3DX has a 12 percent lower fuel consumption and 22 percent lower maintenance cost. The machine has two modes: one for lower fuel consumption and one for higher productivity. The 3DX plus, 3DX Xtra, 3DX super, and the larger 4DX were also on display, along with a variety of attachments, demonstrating the versatility of JCB Backhoe Loaders.
The company has made significant investments in its track excavator line. It has ten different models ranging in operating weight from 8 to 38 tonnes, all of which are designed for the Indian market with a focus on reliability and durability. The NXT series in the 14 to 22 tonne range, powered by ‘Intellicontrol,’ stands for fuel efficiency, productivity, and ease of use. Depending on the type of task, the range has different power modes. Quarry master models, on the other hand, come in 14.5T, 21.5T, 22T, and 38T sizes, with heavy-duty tracks and sturdy structures.
The JCB 315LC HD high-performance machine with a powerful 221HP engine and heavy-duty Deep section boom and arm with cast pivots for durability was on display at the stand. The JCB 385LC QM, with a 284HP engine and a new heavy-duty Boom & Arm, was also on display, providing excellent Block handling performance for Marble and Granite applications. The Xtra variant of the JCB 385LC is designed for bulk excavation.
The NXT 225LC M tracked excavator has a simple mechanical fuel injection system, according to the company. It has a power boost feature, a heavy-duty bucket, eco-hydraulics, and ‘Intellicontrol,’ as well as 10 different power modes for maximum fuel efficiency.
The 433-4, which features a JCB ecoMax 444 engine, ZF axles, and transmission, is the first of three Wheeled Loading Shovels introduced by JCB. It has an increased output of up to 8% and a 10% increase in fuel efficiency. It also requires less maintenance and has a 15% larger cabin.
The JCB 448 eco max engine and ZF transmission power the larger 437-4. The new model is up to 10% more fuel efficient than the previous model, has a larger Cabin for Operator comfort, and lower maintenance costs.
The 455-4, on the other hand, has a Cummins engine and ZF axles and transmission. This machine is designed to perform in the most demanding of applications, with an increase in output of up to 5% in Power mode and a fuel efficiency improvement of up to 10%.
JCB also unveiled the new VM 117 soil compactor, which is powered by a 55 kW JCB ecoMax 444 engine and requires no after-treatment. When compared to the previous model, the machine is up to 10% more fuel efficient. It is a preferred choice for Compaction needs due to its high productivity, reliability, and operator comfort.
With more urban infrastructure being built, JCB also had the JCB 155 Skid Steer on display for applications such as Solid Waste Management and Material Handling. The machine is designed in a Monoboom style with a side door for safe entry and exit. It has a 2700 visibility enhancement and the largest cabin by volume.
JCB Livelink, an advanced Telematics technology, is also on display at the JCB Pavilion. The JCB machine range includes this ground-breaking technology that provides real-time updates on service operations and machine security. These linked machines provide crucial data on their productivity and operations.
