GRRB Associates Wins Road Project Bid in Arunachal Pradesh

For a road project in Papum Pare, Arunachal Pradesh, GRRB Associates has come in as the lowest bidder (L1). For the reinforcement of NH-215 from kilometer 0.000 to km 42.844, the business submitted a bid of Rs 61 crore. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) will be used to carry out the project, which was awarded by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) as part of the Annual Plan for 2023–2024.

In July 2024, GRRB Associates, a prominent infrastructure development firm, was awarded a significant contract by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) for a road project in Arunachal Pradesh. The company emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) with a quoted bid of ₹61 crore for the strengthening of National Highway 215 (NH-215) from kilometer 0.000 to kilometer 42.844 in the Papum Pare district.

Project Overview

The project focuses on enhancing a 42.844-kilometer stretch of NH-215, a vital artery facilitating connectivity within Arunachal Pradesh and linking it to neighboring states. The scope of work includes road widening, pavement strengthening, and the construction of necessary drainage systems to ensure durability and safety. The initiative aims to improve transportation efficiency, reduce travel time, and bolster economic activities in the region.

Execution Model

The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, wherein GRRB Associates will be responsible for the comprehensive design, procurement of materials, and construction of the project. This model is chosen to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards, as it integrates all phases of project development under a single contract.

Strategic Importance

Strengthening NH-215 is of strategic importance for Arunachal Pradesh, a state characterized by its hilly terrain and remote locations. Improved road infrastructure is expected to facilitate better access to essential services, promote tourism, and enhance the movement of goods and people. This development aligns with the government’s broader objective of enhancing connectivity in the northeastern region, thereby fostering socio-economic growth.
