Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has awarded GPT Infraprojects a work order of ₹547 crore for the building of a six-lane elevated Kona Expressway in West Bengal. The project entails building the elevated corridor’s viaduct section, exit/entry ramps, and road over bridges (ROBs) with the exception of steel spans. In addition, the project calls for the construction of the NHAI office building, culvert widening, pedestrian underpasses (PUPs), small and large vehicular underpasses (SVUPs, LVUPs), and other miscellaneous works. The scope of work also includes lighting and electrification for the section of NH-117 between ch. 0.145 km and 7.337 km.
