The Union government has mandated the preparation of a comprehensive master plan for ports with a planning horizon of 2047 and the integration of all port master plans with regard to the vision 2047. Over 800 projects totaling approximately 5.5 lakh crore in estimated cost have been chosen for Sagarmala Program implementation between 2015 and 2035. Additionally, a thorough Plan & report for Major Ports must be prepared.

India’s coastline and waterways may be used to their full potential because to the ambitious national plan known as Sagarmala. The goal of this Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways flagship programme is to lower logistical costs and spur port-led infrastructure and industrial growth along the coast.
