Godrej & Boyce commissions 400kV GIS substation

The 400/220/132/33kV GIS grid substation has been commissioned at Naubatpur and Jakkanpur in the Patna district of Bihar by Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd’s power infrastructure and renewable energy (PIRE) business unit.

Through 400kV, 220kV, 132kV, and 33kV transmission lines, the substation will connect the surrounding towns of Naubatpur and Jakkanpur to a state-level grid, allowing the district of Patna to benefit from simple access to reliable quality power with a transformation capacity of 1000 MVA. In the state of Bihar, this is the first 400kV GIS substation.

The substation will serve the NTPC Nabinagar power station’s electricity evacuation needs while also assisting in the change of the industrial environment in and around Naubatpur and Jakkanpur. This substation will ensure that the area’s developing industrial and residential sectors have access to reliable power. By transferring power to emerging industrial institutions, it has the ability to improve industrial growth chances.
