GHH won the Red Dot Product Design Award for its new 42-ton underground dump truck.
The MK-42 can carry up to 45 tons of weight, and the dump truck pallet capacity ranges from 19 cubic meters to 24 cubic meters.
More importantly, the rated power of this truck is 460 kW, which is top-notch. The company says it also has a first-class turning radius and dump angle (68°) to improve performance and reduce material adhesion in the tray.
“Thanks to the swing articulation and front axle suspension system, the truck has the best traction and higher driving comfort,” said GHH. “MK-42 has a large ergonomic ROPS/FOPS certified safety cabin, equipped with high-performance air conditioning and air filters. There is no high-pressure hose in the pressurized cabin, noise and dust isolation, and includes a strategically placed trainer seat Chair, used for on-the-job operator training.”
GHH and Studio Heikki Naulapää Oy created the baseline method and design concept for the MK-42, based on which the GHH team developed the truck.

The judging process lasts several days and is based on two basic criteria: the judges test the aesthetics and selected materials, craftsmanship, surface structure, ergonomics and functionality of all entries.
