Environmental clearance granted for Chittoor-Thatchur Highway

The six-lane Chittoor-Thatchur highway construction has received environmental approval from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (NH-716B). The National Highways Authority of India will construct the 116.10 km long greenfield national highway project as part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna. It will begin at the intersection of the proposed Bengaluru-Chennai motorway near Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and end at NH-5 near Thatchur on the proposed Chennai Peripheral Road project in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu.

Contractors KCC Buildcon (Package-I), EKK Infrastructures (Package-II), KNR Constructions (Package-III), and IRB Infrastructure are carrying out the project in four packages using a hybrid annuity model (HAM) (Package-IV).
