DPR ready for Pune-Nashik high-speed rail project

After the defence department requested changes to the original plan, the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (MRIDCL) has submitted a revised railway track alignment plan for the proposed Pune-Nashik high-speed train in Khed tehsil.

The project’s land acquisition in the Khed tehsil was halted after the defence department requested that the district administration revise the railway track alignment in the original detailed project report (DPR), claiming that it passed through an army explosive destruction facility.

According to Vineet Nair, the Pune circle’s defence estates officer, there was an issue with railway track alignment, and the MRIDC has now submitted a revised alignment, which the defence department will review before recommending the next steps.

The 235-kilometer Pune-Nashik railway line will travel at a speed of 200 kilometres per hour through the districts of Pune, Ahmednagar, and Nashik, covering the distance between Pune and Nashik in one hour and 45 minutes. Hadapsar, Wagholi, Alandi, Chakan, Khed, Manchar, Narayangaon, Sinnar, and Satpur are among the Pune and Nashik industrial zones that will benefit from the project.
