DPR for ₹14,000cr Shiradi Ghat tunnel road project is ready

Road Transport and Highway Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the Shiradi Ghat Tunnel Road Project will be built on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Road at an estimated cost of Rs 14,000 crore. The new six-lane national highway on the Shiradi Ghat section will have seven tunnels and seven bridges.

The existing 26km national road in Shirdadi Ghat will be built to four lanes according to plan and DPR is ready to develop the proposed six-lane tunnel road.

In addition, officials were ordered to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the loop at Mangaluru. The Ministry has approved 14 Roads Over Bridges (ROBs) in Karnataka.
