A strategic relationship has been formed between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) to investigate consulting potential for Mass Rapid Transit Systems, both nationally and internationally. In the presence of Dr. Vikas Kumar.
Managing Director of DMRC, and other top officials from both organisations, Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Operations & Services) of DMRC, and Dr. Deepak Tripathi, Director (Technical) of RITES, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The goal of this alliance is to efficiently discover, secure, and carry out projects both domestically and internationally by utilising the combined experience of DMRC and RITES.
In June 2024, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) entered into a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore consultancy assignments in the field of Mass Rapid Transit Systems (MRTS) both within India and internationally.
Scope of the Partnership:
The collaboration aims to leverage the combined expertise of DMRC and RITES to provide comprehensive consultancy services across various facets of MRTS. Key focus areas include:
- Operations and Management: Developing efficient operational strategies and management practices for metro and light rail systems.
- Rolling Stock: Advising on the selection, procurement, and maintenance of trains and related equipment.
- Depot and Station Management: Optimizing the functionality and efficiency of depots and stations.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensuring the longevity and safety of railway infrastructure through effective maintenance protocols.
Strategic Objectives:
This partnership is designed to streamline the process of identifying, securing, and executing consultancy projects related to MRTS. By combining their resources and expertise, DMRC and RITES aim to:
