Despite multiple deadlines, the Kochi Water Metro project remains stuck

The Kochi Water Metro project continues to be delayed for unknown reasons, despite the fact that it was supposed to be completed by 2020.

The deadline has been pushed back several times, and the authorities now expect to be operational by June or July.
In February 2021, CM Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the metro’s first route and terminal. However, boat service on the Vyttila-Kakkanad route has yet to begin.
The main reason for the delay, according to an official, is the lack of boats. After receiving at least five boats, the service will begin.
