The local defence authorities have handed over the necessary land to the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation, clearing the way for the MahaMetro to begin construction on the Bopodi-Khadki metro line segment. The project was given the go-ahead by the military ministry, and the business has now begun erecting the five metro pillars in Khadki.
Between PCMC and Phugewadi, Maha-Metro operates metro line 1, which will eventually be extended to Bopodi-Khadki-Range Hills-Agriculture College. In order to expedite construction on the Bopodi-Khadki section, Maha Metro has finished launching the girder to span the railway track’s length viaduct position toward Range Hills. The majority of the pillars along the Bopodi-Khadki section of the ancient Pune-Mumbai highway will be completed very soon. A 1.75 kilometre elevated metro corridor between Range Hills and Dapodi, which is part of the 17.4 km Pimpri-Swargate route, is under the control of the MoD.
Bopodi and Khadki station construction has also been expedited by Maha-Metro, and after it is finished, the route from Phugewadi will be extended to these stations. The elevated portion of the metro line is anticipated to be finished by Maha Metro by the end of this year, in December 2022. From Range Hills to Swargate, the metro will run underground, with the underground stations of Mandai, Budhwar Peth, Civil Court, and Shivajinagar expected to be finished by April 2023.
