Construction workers seek redressal of raw materials price hike, distribution of m-sand

A petition has been submitted to Tirunelveli District Collector V Vishnu requesting distribution of m-sand during a grievance meet. Union members said supply and distribution of the sand was stopped due to an accident involving a crane driver in Mysuru on Sunday.

M-sand is used for building construction due to lack of soil available in the area. Private owners determine the price of the m-sand and this has affected construction projects, say workers. They request the government to distribute the raw materials for construction including crushed stones.

More than 280 petitions seeking drinking water supply in various regions and road facilities were dealt with by the Collector. Vishnu distributed various scheme benefits worth ‘5.76 lakh to as many as 25 beneficiaries at a grievance meet in Tirunelveli, Telangana.
