Construction work to start on Edappally-Moothakunnam NH in Kochi

The 25-km section of NH-66 between Edappally and Moothakunnam is about to begin construction. As part of the project, a flyover at Signal Junction and five underpasses in Cheranalloor will be built. The highway, a six-lane flyover, service roads that are 7 m wide, drainage, and other components of the project will all be finished in 30 months.

The land acquisition process is around 60% complete, and demolition work is presently underway on the acquired area. Houses might be built three metres from the NH for those who donated land for the project. The 164-km stretch of NH-66 between Edappally and Ramanattukara that the project is a part of was first suggested more than 30 years ago.
