Construction in Isha doesn’t require environmental approval: HC Madras

The High Court of Madras has ruled that construction in Isha does not require environmental approval. This is a victory for the Isha Foundation, which has been embroiled in a legal battle with the Tamil Nadu government over the issue of environmental clearances for its proposed construction projects.

The Foundation had applied for environmental clearances for several of its construction projects, but the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) had denied these clearances on the grounds that the projects were located in an ecologically sensitive area. The Foundation then approached the High Court, which has now ruled in its favor.

This ruling is significant as it paves the way for the Isha Foundation to go ahead with its construction projects without having to obtain environmental clearances. This will speed up the construction process and also save the Foundation time and money.
