CM Yogi introduces ,670-million in projects in Noida and Greater Noida

In the district of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has revealed development projects totaling $1,670 crore. A city bus terminal, underpasses in Noida, the Ganga water project for Greater Noida, and a sizable sewage treatment facility (STP) along the Yamuna Expressway are among the projects. The Noida Authority, the Greater Noida Authority, the Yamuna Expressway Authority, and the UP State Industrial Development Authority are the organisations overseeing the development of the 13 projects.

The cost to create the 85 cusec Ganga water project for Greater Noida was Rs. 848 crore. It seeks to deliver Ganga water to households in 28 Greater Noida sectors.

The PM also opened a Smart LED light project in Greater Noida that cost 48 crore rupees.

He dedicated a city bus terminal for 157.84 crore rupees, an integrated smart traffic management system worth 68.42 crore rupees, and underpasses for Kondli and Bahlolpur worth 46 crore rupees and 30.29 crore rupees, respectively, in Noida.

Additionally, Noida received three new STPs: a 60 MLD capacity STP built by the Yamuna Expressway Authority for 66.99 crore, two additional STPs in Sector 168 for 162 crore, and Sector 123 for 131 crore.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled a series of infrastructure projects in Noida and Greater Noida, collectively valued at approximately $1.67 billion. These initiatives are poised to significantly enhance the region’s urban landscape, transportation networks, and economic prospects.

Noida Film City

A cornerstone of this development is the establishment of the Noida Film City in Sector 21 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area. Envisioned to be India’s largest and the world’s second-largest film city, this project spans over 1,000 acres. The facility is designed to serve as a comprehensive hub for film production, featuring state-of-the-art studios, advanced post-production facilities, and dedicated zones for entertainment and commercial activities. The project is slated for completion over the next few years, with construction expected to commence in the latter half of 2024.

Ghaziabad–Jewar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS)

To bolster regional connectivity, the Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS corridor has been proposed. This semi-high-speed rail system will traverse 72.44 kilometers, linking Ghaziabad and Noida with the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. Designed for speeds up to 160 km/h, the RRTS aims to reduce travel time between these critical nodes to under an hour. The corridor will encompass 12 strategically located stations, facilitating seamless transit for daily commuters and travelers. The project is projected to cost approximately ₹20,640 crore (US$2.5 billion) and is expected to be operational by 2027.

Ganga Expressway

Another significant infrastructure endeavor is the Ganga Expressway, intended to enhance intra-state connectivity. This expressway will traverse multiple districts, providing a high-speed corridor that reduces travel time and stimulates economic activities along its route. The project has received environmental clearance, and land acquisition is nearing completion, with construction expected to commence soon.

Strategic Implications

These projects collectively represent a transformative phase for Noida and Greater Noida. The Noida Film City is anticipated to position the region as a premier destination for film production, attracting investments and generating employment opportunities. The Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS will provide a rapid transit solution, alleviating traffic congestion and promoting sustainable urban mobility. The Ganga Expressway will further integrate various regions, fostering economic growth and development.

In summary, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s introduction of these infrastructure projects underscores a strategic vision aimed at elevating the region’s infrastructure, economy, and global standing. These initiatives are set to redefine the urban and economic landscape of Noida and Greater Noida, paving the way for a prosperous future.
