BMRCL floats tender for Sarjapur-Hebbal metro corridor

BMRCL has issued a tender for the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for a new corridor that will run from Sarjapur to Hebbal via Agara, Koramangala, and Dairy Circle. It is a 37-kilometer Metro line project with a budget of Rs 15,000 crore.

The DPR must be completed within eight months, and bids must be submitted by May 16. It will include information such as alignment, underground and elevated sections, station and location numbers, depot, rolling stock requirements, projected.

ridership, and cost estimates, among other things. The route, which runs through the heart of the city, is expected to be finished in 2027-2028. The section between Hebbal and Koramangala will be underground, but the rest will be elevated.

Meanwhile, RITES is working on a DPR for two priority Phase 3 corridors — the 34-kilometer Hebbal-JP Nagar and the 13-kilometer Hosahalli-Kadabagere lines — that will be submitted to the Centre for approval soon.
