BMC floats tenders for ₹5,800 cr road concretization project

The Mumbai civic body has issued an invitation for bids for the estimated $5,806 crore project of concretizing 400 km of city roads. It has released five different tenders with a 24-month timeline, excluding monsoon season, for upgrading and improving roads.

Additionally, it will involve tasks like digging soak pits for water percolation, constructing underground ducts for utility lines, and choosing a quality control and CCTV agency.

At a cost of $2,200 crore, more than 236.58 km of concrete roads are being built in Mumbai in FY 22–23, adding to the city’s approximately 1,000 km of existing concrete roads.
