Bihar minister asks NHAI to extend Purvanchal Expressway to Bhagalpur

The Bihar government received assurance from Alka Upadhyaya, Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), that the bidding process would begin this year for a number of key NH projects, including Patna-Ara-Sasaram, Areraj- Bettiah, Mokama-Munger, and Buxar-Haidariya.

To evaluate the ongoing NHAI projects in Bihar, Upadhyaya travelled to Patna. After her meeting with NHAI representatives, she met with state minister for road construction Nitin Nabin to discuss the recent developments in NH.

As stated by Nabin, the Purvanchal Expressway should be extended to Bhagalpur, and the NHAI chairman pledged to take the necessary steps. It was also decided at the conference to ask the Bihar government for early approval of the Raxaul-Patna-Haldia Expressway alignment.
