The Bhopal Metro is expected to be operational by the middle of 2025, according to the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL). Commercial operations on the 7 km track from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS are scheduled for July 2025, with trial runs between the depot and AIIMS Bhopal anticipated soon.
By July 2025, we want to have eight stations operating, totalling about 7 km. According to S Krishna Chaitanya, Managing Director of MPMRCL, “civil and systems integration work is on track.”
The 7 km portion of the metro project’s 31 km first phase is almost finished. Progress has been further accelerated by the recently completed Habibganj rail overbridge, which connects the metro to AIIMS Bhopal.
