Bengaluru-Vijayawada greenfield corridor to be built at ₹13,600-cr
At a cost of $13,600 crore, the Union government intends to construct a greenfield access-controlled corridor directly connecting Vijayawada and Bengaluru and connecting two important cities in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The Bengaluru-Vijayawada Expressway project includes the Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Greenfield Access Controlled Corridor. It seeks to cut travel time and distance by five hours and 75 km, respectively.

The feeder roads for the four- to six-lane roadway will connect at key locations. The motorway will travel via Kadapa to link the two cities (AP). The corridor would increase connectivity to major industrial and economic centres like Guntur, Kadapa, and Koparthy, both present and in the future. By 2022, the 342-km highway project will be finished.
