Aurangabad to get new expressways worth ₹10,000-cr

Aurangabad is set to get new expressways worth ₹10,000-cr. This is a major development for the city and will help boost its economy. The expressways will connect Aurangabad to other major cities in the state and will also help reduce traffic congestion in the city.

With an estimated cost of 10,000 crore, the National Highway Authority of India has announced intentions to construct a 225 km highway connecting Aurangabad and Pune. With the completion of the Beed, Ahmednagar to Paithan alignment, the distance between Aurangabad and Pune will be covered in under two and a half hours thanks to the road’s capacity for speeds of up to 140 km/h. The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways approved the project in April 2022, and it will cross 24 villages in Aurangabad and Paithan. Three districts are currently through the land purchase process, with the first phase involving the acquisition of land from Pune. The endeavour falls under Bharatmala Phase-II.
