Aurangabad Municipal Corporation to set up 200 charging stations

Aurangabad Municipal Corporation has decided to build around 200 electric vehicle charging stations in the city by the end of 2022.

Charging stations are set up in gas stations, shopping malls, bus stations, railway stations, commercial complexes and other places.

For this, the municipal body will spend about Rs 5 crore out of the funds awarded by the 15th Finance Committee. Part of the funds raised will also be used to purchase electric vehicles for official use.

To drive the green movement, Marathwada Auto Cluster recently launched the community-engaged Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility program, which aims to purchase 250 electric quads by March 2022.
