Ammann India has heralded a significant milestone in its ‘Make in India for the World’ journey with the rollout of its first ABG 5420 Tracked Paver (Tier 3) from the new assembly line at its Ditasan facility in Gujarat. This occasion not only marks the full integration of the ABG Paver business into Ammann India, but also exemplifies the company’s emphasis on localization, innovation, and global ambitions
The rollout was led by ABG’s Executive Vice President, Bernd Holz, alongside Ammann India’s Managing Director, Dheeraj Panda, as well as other senior leadership members. With India’s infrastructure sector rapidly expanding—driven by hallmark projects such as Bharatmala, PM Gati Shakti, and the Smart Cities Mission—this launch positions Ammann India to play a decisive role in meeting enhanced demand for high-performance, emission-compliant road construction machinery.
The ABG 5420 Paver conforms to Tier 3 emission standards, aligning with emissions regulations increasingly prevalent in India and other markets. Designed for both domestic contractors and export markets—including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa—the machine offers enhanced fuel efficiency, operational reliability, and overall sustainability.
Concurrently, Ammann India inaugurated a dedicated ABG warehouse adjacent to its new assembly line at Ditasan. Spanning more than 10,000 square feet with an additional ~2,000 square feet for material staging, the warehouse features a multi-level racking architecture—eight levels deep and designed to accommodate almost 1,800 SKUs—with shelves capable of supporting up to 1,200 kg each.
This strategically designed facility will significantly bolster Ammann India’s manufacturing and aftermarket support capabilities. Key advantages include optimized material flow, improved inventory management, faster parts availability, reduced delivery lead times, and markedly enhanced service response rates—critical in ensuring uptime and satisfaction among ABG machine users.
Speaking on these dual achievements, MD Dheeraj Panda framed them as “strong testaments to our commitment to localization, operational excellence, and customer service… pivotal in accelerating our ABG growth journey in India while boosting our capabilities as a global manufacturing and export hub”. These developments underscore Ammann India’s strategic thrust towards manufacturing innovation, localized excellence, and customer-centric service infrastructure—strengthening its ability to serve both domestic and international markets with agility, precision, and scale.
In summary, by merging the introduction of the ABG 5420 Tracked Paver with a state-of-the-art ABG warehouse, Ammann India is expanding its manufacturing footprint, enhancing aftermarket readiness, and fortifying its global supply chain—setting the stage for accelerated growth across India and export markets alike.
