Assam CM inaugurates ₹1,776-cr infra projects in state capital

The state capital’s seven key infrastructure and building projects, totaling $1,776 crore in investment, were inaugurated by Assam’s chief minister. These initiatives include of the creation of the Guwahati Police Reserve Campus, a new Police Commissionerate at Khanapara, and a new Raj Bhavan at Kharghuli.

The Chief Minister also began construction of an integrated directorate complex at Betkuchi, which will house numerous government directorates currently dispersed throughout the city. This project is expected to cost 808 crore rupees.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to build two auditoriums in Guwahati to meet the city’s expanding infrastructural needs. The Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra grounds will house one auditorium, and Khanapara will house the other. The latter auditorium, with a capacity of 5,000, will be the biggest in the city and will be constructed for a price of 185 crore.

These initiatives are a part of the state’s efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure and establish Guwahati as a gateway to South-East Asia. They are anticipated to boost economic expansion and raise Assamese citizens’ standard of living.
