Govt increases allocation to NHAI for road maintenance by 44%

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been allocated Rs 11,500 crore for road maintenance in the current financial year, an increase of 44% over the previous year. The increase in allocation is in line with the government’s focus on improving road infrastructure and connectivity in the country.

The NHAI is responsible for the maintenance of over 12,000 km of national highways across the country. With the increased allocation, the NHAI will be able to carry out much needed repairs and maintenance work on these highways. This will improve the condition of the highways and make them safer for travel.

The government’s increased focus on road infrastructure is a welcome move. Improving the condition of our highways is essential for the smooth movement of goods and people across the country.
