A team of archaeologists from the University of Haifa has announced the discovery of a “complete” Roman-era cemetery in the Gaza Strip.
The cemetery, which is thought to date back to the 2nd or 3rd century AD, was found during excavations at the site of the ancient city of Gaza.
According to the team, the cemetery is the first of its kind to be found in the Gaza Strip, and it is thought to be the largest Roman-era cemetery in the region.
The team also found a number of other interesting artifacts at the site, including a Roman-era coin minted in the city of Gaza.
