At Ahmedabad International Airport Limited, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) intends to construct a metro station and metro-link corridor (AIAL). Passengers in transit will board the Metro after this $400 billion project is finished to commute to the airport or other local sites. The proposed placement of the Metro station is not far from the Terminal-II. Intense negotiations are presently taking place between Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC), the airport operator, and other parties in preparation for the start of the land purchase process and other regulatory permits. The project, which is a part of Ahmedabad Metro Phase-II, is anticipated to be operational by 2025, according to official sources. Additional developments are also included in the airport master plan. such as creating a new integrated terminal, remodelling the existing terminal buildings, repaving the runway and associated projects, setting up a multimodal transportation hub, constructing a new cargo terminal, and even constructing a brand-new tower for the air traffic controllers (ATC). The new tower will be built on a 9,840 square metre parcel of land in the colony of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), close to the AAI office’s current location. The built-up area of the ATC tower and technical complex will be 13,570 square metres.
