The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport’s expansion and new terminal building have both had their foundations poured by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Madhya Pradesh city of Gwalior. An estimate of the cost of this airport expansion project is 500 crore.

180 acres will be used to build the airport. From 30,000 square feet to 2 lakh square feet will be added to its size. Greater than Indore and Bhopal in size (airports). As opposed to the current capacity of three aircraft, it will be able to park 13 planes.

The construction of a new airport terminal will boost the local tourism economy and create new job possibilities. The city has a lot of promise as it develops into a regional education hub that draws students from all over.
