The government of Bihar has given $1,339.68 crore to build new roads and upgrade old ones. Under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) project, highways with a length of 120 km would be enlarged and strengthened at a cost of 1,097 crore in districts including Patna, Gaya, Saran, Siwan, Buxar, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, and Jehanabad. A road connectivity project for areas impacted by left-wing extremism has also received approval from the cabinet for the development of new roads and 13 bridges in the districts of Gaya, Aurangabad, Jamui, and Lakhisarai.
