DMRC starts work on 12.5 km long elevated corrido

The 12.5 km long elevated corridor being built above the Shinghali Bridge in Gujjar chowk has begun construction thanks to the efforts of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. It will link the two ends of the current Pink line, forming Delhi’s first ring corridor, and is anticipated to be finished by the end of the following year. The flyover and viaduct will be separated by six metres, with the viaduct being 14 metres above the ground.

As part of its Phase-IV extension, the Majlis Park to Maujpur corridor will cross a double-carriageway flyover close to the Jagatpur village in north Delhi. This corridor’s raised viaduct will pass over a flyover near Gujjar Chowk. Flyover crossings present a significant engineering problem because they require careful planning and constant monitoring. T-girders will be installed above the flyover’s double-carriageway viaduct, which is 34 metres long. The girder launch will take place in the late hours to prevent impeding vehicle traffic underneath since it is a very busy flyover. High-capacity cranes will be used to lift these specially created T-girders, which will have been precast in the casting yard.
