Atal Progressway to aid development in Rajasthan, UP & MP

According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the Atal Progressway, which is being built for 20,000 crore between Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Kota in Rajasthan, will guarantee the development of underdeveloped areas in Rajasthan, UP, and MP.

The second section of the Atal Progressway from Morena Link Road to Rani Laxmibai Samadhi will start alongside the first phase and be built using modern Malaysian technology. History of Gwalior will be seen through this elevated avenue. At an estimated cost of 120 crore, a 1.5 km long ropeway from Phoolbagh in the city to the Gwalior fort will be constructed. Additionally, ropeways are intended to be built in Ujjain, Khandwa, Raisen, Durg, Rani Roopmati Mahal in Mandu, and Omkareshwar.

Between Gwalior and Agra, a 2,500 crore greenfield highway will be built that will span 87 kilometres and connect to the Yamuna Expressway. Once it is built, it will take just three hours to go from Gwalior to Delhi.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is over 70% complete, according to Gadkari. Once in operation, it will take 12 hours to get between the two megacities.

The minister further stated that after the future Atal Progressway and Mumbai-Delhi Expressway are connected, the Madhya Pradesh region of Gwalior-Chambal will flourish and travel times to Mumbai and Delhi will be only a few hours.
