An order for 1500 electric buses from Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) was received by commercial vehicle maker Tata Motors as part of a wider tender from Convergence Energy Services. According to the contract, Tata Motors will provide, operate, and maintain air-conditioned, low-floor, completely manufactured electric buses for 12 years. Electric buses from Tata Starbus offer cutting-edge technology for reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible public transportation. They are also fitted with contemporary amenities to ensure that passengers have a safe, easy, and comfortable trip.
“The introduction of the environmentally efficient buses will help significantly in decreasing air pollution and benefit millions of Delhi inhabitants,” said Neeraj Semwal, IAS, MD-Delhi Transport Corporation. DTC is still dedicated to implementing new technology that will benefit both travellers and society at large.
Convergence Energy Services (CESL) MD and CEO Mahua Acharya stated, “The Delhi Government has showed excellent leadership in the shift to electric buses. We are grateful to Tata Motors for their kind cooperation and lucky to have benefited from it.
According to Rohit Srivastava, vice president of Tata Motors’ bus product line, “the delivery of these buses will further strengthen our cooperation with DTC and contribute to Delhi’s environmentally friendly mass transportation. We are devoted to modernising public transportation in India and prioritise sustainability when creating cutting-edge vehicles.
