BRO targets ₹1,400 cr road infra projects in NE

The Border Road Organization has chosen to construct road infrastructure projects totaling 1,400 crore in Arunachal Pradesh during the current fiscal year, in addition to the 1,000 crore projects already in progress. The 20,000 crore amount budgeted for the area includes the intended investment. The state government has not yet granted forest clearance for highways valued at least 2,500 crore.

Although the single-lane Elephant Road is finished, the construction of Sessa Road is still waiting due to the need for forest clearance. The BCT Road’s Dirang Bypass has a completed alignment, and contractors will likely be chosen for the project very soon. With the exception of a few tiny places, the construction on West Siang district’s Siyom Valley Road is around 90% finished. The completion of these highways will guarantee reverse migration in the state’s border villages. An axis road roughly 2,000 km long has been planned for the India-China border.
