The NBCC is moving on with a 1,168 crore TOD project in Delhi

The city’s first integrated development under transit-oriented development guidelines, at East Delhi hub Karkardooma, has been fast-tracked by the NBCC. The project, which would cost Rs. 1,168.54 crore, is slated to be finished in October 2024.

Around the Delhi Metro’s Pink and Blue Line lines, the 63-acre project will feature around 15 million sq ft of built-up space with 30 residential and commercial structures. The East Delhi Hub project’s purpose is to create an architectural typology that reacts to the city’s transit network and movement patterns, according to Dikshu C Kukreja, managing principal at CP Kukreja Architects, the project’s design firm. To do so, the initiative has taken into account findings from studies on density control, urban massing, and public space networks, all of which define the architecture that supports a city’s circulation network. With 47 storeys with vertical and terrace gardens, it will be the world’s tallest residential tower. For the project, 1,524 units have been proposed.
