Brigade Foundation, a ‘not for profit trust’ of Brigade Group, and BCIC have signed an MoU to establish Brigade-BCIC Skill Development Academy – a Centre of Excellence on a 5-acre land parcel in Bangalore North’s Aerospace Park.
The Brigade Foundation was founded in 2003 by Jaishankar, a trustee, to make a meaningful contribution to society in the areas of education, health, and community development. Brigade Foundation has partnered with BCIC to establish Brigade-BCIC Skill Development Academy, which will focus on construction, hospitality & tourism, manufacturing, and retail. Brigade Foundation also co-founded the Indian Music Experience Museum and is in the process of establishing a 100-bed hospital with St John’s Hospital. These four industries account for the majority of Karnataka’s 11 lakh skilled worker shortage. Apart from meeting the needs of the sectors, the initiative aims to make a positive contribution to the lives of unemployed and underemployed people. The Chief Guest at this virtual signing of the MoU was Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, Electronics, IT, BT, Science and Technology, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood Department.
“Skilling youth is an important focus for the Government of Karnataka,” Dr. Narayan said. It promotes youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. Collaborations like this contribute significantly to the development of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The goal is to establish a centre of excellence where industry-specific training leads to improved skills and productivity.
