The metros in Delhi contribute to economic growth and job creation

One of the most significant challenges that humanity has faced over the years is rapid urbanisation. Over 40% of India’s population is expected to live in urban areas by 2030, and cities will be unable to grow without a robust infrastructure for mass mobility.

If a city has good transportation options, it can grow economically and create more job opportunities. In the case of Delhi NCR, the metro arrived and completely transformed the region’s economic structure.
Because of easy metro connectivity, areas like Dwarka, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad quickly became residential and commercial hubs. Residents in Old Delhi were re-energized by the introduction of metro service, which allowed them to travel to these areas without having to navigate congested streets or deal with parking issues.

The introduction of metros resulted in a significant reduction in vehicle emissions. The Delhi Metro has sparked a metro revolution in India and other rapidly growing cities.
India currently has over 770 kilometres of metro lines in operation across 20 cities, making it one of the world’s largest metro rail networks.
The Delhi Metro also recognises its role as a larger metro system, and it serves as a guide for the majority of the metros in various capacities.
