PM kick-starts ₹20,000cr infra projects in Jammu & Kashmir

The Prime Minister has laid the foundation stones of multiple infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir. Projects include the three packages of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway costing over ₹7,500 crore. Rattle and Kwar hydroelectric projects, an 850 MW facility to be constructed on Chenab river in Kishtwar district.

PM launched a new initiative named ‘Amrit Sarovar’ to rejuvenate 75 water bodies in every district of the country. A 500 KW solar power plant at Palli will make it the country’s first Panchayat to become carbon neutral.

The PM handed over ‘SVAMITVA’ (survey of villages and mapping with improvised technology in village areas) cards to beneficiaries. The cards will give villagers documentary proof of their ownership of properties so they can use them for financial benefits if required. He also transferred ₹44.70 crore as prize money to 322 awardee Panchayats across 31 states/UTs in the country digitally.
